Conclusions:
(1) To be ignorant of the fundamental significance of the Cross of Christ is to be ignorant of the very heart and soul of biblical religion.

(2) To be at a distance from and/or insensitive to the constant motivational burden of the cross of Christ is to be a stranger to the religious life of the Bible.
