The Mystery of the Gospel
August 14, 2016 Speaker: Fred Greco Series: Ephesians
Topic: AM Service Passage: Ephesians 3:1–6
One of the great truths of Scripture is that God speaks to us in His Word. It is also true that God speaks to us in His Word because, apart from that revelation, we would be unable to understand the reality of creation and our lives. This is especially the case when we consider the work of Jesus Christ in redeeming His people. God’s solution for the problem of sin is a mystery that was revealed in the cross and is proclaimed in the gospel. Paul reminds us that without God’s revelation, we would not naturally know the work of salvation in uniting sinners from every tribe, tongue, and nation into the one people of God. This is “The Mystery of the Gospel” (Ephesians 3:1-6).
I. Revealing Ourselves

B. What God is Doing
II. Revealing Jesus

III. Revealing the Church
A. What it Has

Questions for consideration: (1) Why is it important for you to remember who you are? Why is it important to remember that God is at work in your life? (2) In what ways have you seen God work in your life unexpectedly (or even painfully)? How can that knowledge prepare you for what will happen in your life in times to come? (3) How can you bring the message of gospel unity to have an effect on the relationships in your life?
