Introduction: Though a sinner by nature, your life can be changed by the Lord Jesus Christ!

I. By nature, you have nothing
A. All are slaves by nature, though only some now are seen to be (vs. 1)

B. All are darkened in mind by nature (vs. 3-5)

C. All are corrupted by the love of money by nature (vs. 7-10)

II. Your sinful nature doesn’t have the last word!
A. The Lord Jesus Christ is able to change everything for you (vs. 14b & 15b-16)

B. The Lord Jesus Christ gives grace to sinners like you & me (vs. 12b)

C. The Lord Jesus Christ brings real grace into your life (vs. 21b)

III. By grace, you have abundance
A. Believers find value in oppression by grace (vs. 1-2)

B. Believers find godliness in controversy by grace (vs. 3-6)

C. Believers find growth in struggle by grace (vs. 11-12a)

Questions for consideration: (1) Why am I a sinner by nature? (2) Why is Jesus able to change my life? (3) What difference does Jesus make on the inside of my life? (4) What difference does Jesus make on the outside of my life? (5) How can I grow in grace and truth to be more like Jesus?
