This World is not our home. When our first parents, Adam and Eve, sinned, we were kicked out of the Garden of Eden. Now we are strangers in a foreign land. We are elect exiles and chosen foreigners. We are Pilgrims called on a journey. But the Lord, the Triune God of heaven, brings his chosen foreigners home. Our journey is according to the Father’s foreknowledge. Our journey is accompanied by the Spirit’s work of sanctification. Our journey is accomplished by the life and death of Jesus Christ. He will bring us to himself, and we sill see Him face to face. But in the meantime, we find ourselves asking “Are We There Yet?” (1 Peter 1:1-2).
