So much of the world today wants a Jesus that they can take-or-leave. A Jesus who makes no demands, a Jesus who is a helpful (but non-authoritative) teacher, and a Jesus who does not require obedience is appealing to a world that wants to go its own way. But the Bible does not show us a Jesus who has no authority; the Bible describes Jesus as both meek and strong. Jesus is humble, but a king. As Jesus draws near to Jerusalem to complete the work that the Father had given to Him, He shows us glimpses of who He really is – the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. There is no one like Christ, and we see this as we watch Him “Entering in Triumph” (Luke 19:28-40).
