“The Parable of the Sower” (Luke 8:1-15) is one of the most well-known parables in the Bible. Our Lord Jesus told it so that we might both understand why some do not respond to God’s Word, and also so that we might focus ourselves on listening to the Lord. There are so many things that distract us from the Word of God, and without an intentional commitment to hearing the Lord, we are led astray. But the good news of the gospel is that when Jesus changes our hearts, the Word takes deep root and bears great fruit.
