In a world that is marked by a constant rush to spend more and more, and where people everywhere try and find security in money, there is a great opportunity for the believer in Christ to show his trust in the Lord by following God's calling to be generous.
I. Sowing a Habit of Giving to the Lord
A. With Proper Planning
B. With Proper Attitude
C. With Proper Perspective
II. Watering a Confident Dependence on the Lord
A. Do We Trust the Lord?
B. Do Others See Our Trust?
III. Reaping a Harvest from the Lord
A. The Giver is Enriched
B. The Lord is Glorified
C. The People of God are Brought Closer
Questions for consideration: (1) What are the variety of ways in which you can give to the Lord? How has the Lord gifted you? (2) Why is it so important to God how and why we give? Why is that more important than what we give? (3) If God does not need our gifts, why does He tell us in His Word to give? What results have you seen from the giving of others? From your own giving?
