We all have times when we are afraid. We can be tempted to ignore those fears, to pretend that they don't exist, or to think that we can handle them on our own. When he was faced with his own fears, Israel (Jacob) instead sought the Lord, and trusted Him to carry him through.
I. Having Fears

B. Future Uncertainty
II. Facing Fears

III. Conquering Fears

B. Trusting the Lord
Questions for consideration: (1) What things have happened in your past that still frighten you today? How do they affect the way you live? (2) Why do you think that faith and obedience are so closely linked in the Bible? (3) What promises of the Lord can you dwell on today to still your fears?
