Ephesians
The Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Ephesus and the other churches around it in order to explain the Lord's eternal plan and the outworking of His grace in the lives of His people. The first three chapters contain some of the clearest teachings on the free grace of God in Christ in the New Testament. Paul reminds us that we are chosen in Christ, that we are redeemed by Christ, and that all of this is for the glory of Christ. The gospel is clearly set forth in the well-known eighth and ninth verses of chapter 2: "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."
In the last three chapters, Paul sets forth the implication of salvation, reminding us that we have been called for a purpose - to glorify the Lord in our lives. We are to live new lives because we are new creations in Christ. This changes who we are in our marriages, our families, our work, and all our relationships. Ephesians is a testimony to The Overwhelming Grace of God.
