The congregation of Christ Church continues to worship in-person during this time of COVID-19 concern in our sanctuary. Each Sunday we have worship services at 8:30 AM, 11:00 AM, and 6:00 PM. Everyone is welcome to come - we trust you to make your own judgment about whether to attend in-person or via our live stream (which continues at both 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM). We are taking health and safety precautions that vary depending on the service.
- At our 8:30 AM service, face coverings are required. You do not need to have a medical grade or special mask. Any face covering, including a scarf or bandana, will be sufficient. If you do not have a covering when you arrive at this service, one will be provided for you upon entry.
- At our 11:00 AM and our 6:00 PM service, face coverings are also required. Both of these services will continue to be live streamed if you prefer to watch at home.
Seating is by family unit (or those who travel to the service in the same vehicle) and for the 8:30 AM, the 11:00 AM, and 6:00 PM service is every other row. We are asking that two empty seats be left between family units. As attendance increases, it can be difficult to find the right number of seats, especially if you are looking for your "usual seat." We encourage you to come early and to sit closer to the front in order for us to seat the maximum number of worshipers. Our ushers may also request that you shift seats in order to find spaces for people as they arrive.
Music and Singing
We have placed the hymnals and songbooks back in the seats but we also have an electronic version of the bulletin (with songs and music included) for you to use on your device. We will have available on-site a limited number of single-use copy packets of the music and the words of each of the songs will be projected on our screen.
Additional precautions will be taken each fourth Sunday of the month when we celebrate the Lord's Supper. Our communion preparation volunteers (wearing masks and gloves) will put small crackers in the cups that are normally used for the juice/wine. A cup with the juice/wine will then be filled and placed into the cup with the cracker (creating a double stack of cups). The cups will be placed in every other “slot” in the communion trays. Our elders, wearing face coverings and gloves, will bring the trays around to serve you. Once all have been served, we will partake together, first of the cracker, and then of the juice/wine. We ask that you keep your family’s cups and throw them out in the trash receptacles on your way out.
