New Outreach Sermon Series
Perhaps the greatest privilege that a Christian has is to testify to others about the Lord Jesus Christ. Being a witness for Christ is an expected consequence of having your life changed by Jesus! This Spring, beginning on March 24, we will explore what it means to be “Ambassadors for Christ” in our community. This will be a four-sermon series designed to encourage us to think about the command, content, and context of sharing Jesus with those who are around us every day. Specifically, we will look together at the following topics:
March 24 – Ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:11-21)
March 31 – Declaring God's Greatness (Isaiah 12:3-4; Psalm 96)
April 7 – Sharing Jesus (John 4:1-42)
April 14 – Living a Life that Gets Noticed (Matthew 5:13-16; 1 Peter 2:12)
I hope that the congregation of Christ Church will gain confidence to take advantage of opportunities the Lord gives us to speak to our friends and neighbors in a natural and unafraid manner. We have seen in our study of Romans that Paul had a great burden for the lost. We also have seen that God is sovereign in salvation - in His choice and in His mercy for His glory.
We must remember that it does not depend on us to bring someone to faith in Christ – only a work of God can do that. That itself should free us to engage people in our community because we can trust that the Lord has His people not only throughout the world but in our community as well.
