2018 Peru Mission Trip- Day 3
2018 Christ Church Katy- Peru Mission Team
Day 3
We spent our Monday as a work day at the church- working alongside volunteers from La Roca Iglesia Presbiteriana. We removed deteriorated sections of a wall and replaced it with new plywood, painted a Sunday School room, hung new lights in the nursery, installed more security lighting, repaired and painted various places in a masonry wall, and touched up paint in other places. It was a long day and we hope to come back later this week to complete a few of the projects, but it was a delight to see the work accomplished. Our day took an unexpected turn when we learned that the van which we had been using had been towed. The ever-resourceful Nathaniel made sure we had a taxi ride to the seminary where we enjoyed our supper, while he took a taxi across town to get the van out of impound. He arrived shortly after we finished eating and took us to our hotel. We look forward to an early evening tonight and the chance to rest in preparation for our trip tomorrow to Colca Canyon! Again, thank you for your prayers. Please pray for safety and protection tomorrow in our travels.
If you want to see pictures of our trip, several members of our team are posting them to Facebook. There is also an MTW Arequipa Facebook page where many are posted. If you would like to be added to that Facebook group, please message Pastor Jason Wegener via Facebook.
