Fred grew up in the Buffalo, NY area, along with his wife, Deb. Fred studied Classics and History at the University of Buffalo, and then moved on to graduate studies, earning an M.A. in Classics at the University of Chicago. He then moved to Ann Arbor, MI, where he entered the University of Michigan Law School (Go Blue!) and earned a J.D. Upon Fred's graduation from law school, Fred and Deb were married and moved to the Cleveland, Ohio area, and Fred practiced as a corporate attorney specializing in commercial finance and real estate law. All four of Fred and Deb’s children, Peter, Daniel, Paul, and Abigail were born in NE Ohio.
While they were in Ohio, the Grecos were members of Grace Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Hudson, Ohio. Fred was ordained as a ruling elder and was blessed to have opportunities to minister, teach, and occasionally preach. Deb was active in women's ministry and missions, two of her passions. In 2003, the Grecos moved far south so that Fred could enroll in seminary at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi. In 2006, Fred accepted a call to be the Senior Pastor of Christ Church, and much to the whole family's delight, they all became Texans! In the years that the Grecos have been at Christ Church, the Lord has blessed them with a faithful and loving congregation, a useful facility, and growing outreach to the community. The Greco family has expanded to now include two daughters-in-law: Daniel's wife, Kameron and Paul's wife, Avery.
Fred has a passion for preaching God's Word, shepherding God's flock, and the Church. He has served in the denomination (PCA) and his Presbytery (Houston Metro) in many different capacities, chairing various committees and serving on the Standing Judicial Commission of the PCA. Fred was elected as the Moderator of the 50th PCA General Assembly in Memphis (2023). He has authored articles for Tabletalk Magazine and various web publications, including the Gospel Reformation Network, and has traveled for mission work to Africa, Asia, and Mexico. He teaches practical theology classes at RTS Houston as well. He also loves languages, baseball (both watching and coaching), Michigan football and basketball, computers and all kinds of gadgets, reading, and vacationing with his family.
