Christ Church at 25:
Remembering God’s faithfulness, looking forward to God’s blessings
The Lord was at work many years ago to establish a Bible-believing, Jesus-exalting, faithful church in Katy, Texas. A Bible study was started in 1998 with the hopes of starting such a church. In the summer of 1999 a call was extended to Rev. John-Gregory Farrell to come to Katy, Texas to assist in starting this work. Then on October 31, 1999, Christ Church held its first worship service in Cimarron Elementary School with 41 in attendance. Over the next 25 years, the Lord remained faithful to the group of congregants in Katy. To celebrate this milestone, Christ Church is having a special weekend of gatherings, activities, and worship.
Friday, November 1
A celebratory dinner will be held at Palacio Maria in Katy, starting at 6:30 PM. Invitations have been emailed and mailed to current and past members. All who receive an invitation and are attending the dinner must register through the Eventbrite link below. Tickets are free of charge, but you must register tickets for all family members to ensure that we have enough meals and table spots. You will not be able to just show up at the venue and be seated. When you make your reservation, please indicate if you have special meal needs (gluten-free, vegetarian, or child's meal). The evening will include fellowship, a photo booth, and a celebratory video.
Saturday, November 2
Join us on the front lawn of Christ Church for fun outdoor games for the whole family. All ages are welcome. Activities include large blowups, scavenger hunting, lawn games, and provided lunch. The day begins at 10:00 AM with lunch served at 11:30 AM. We will also have a hymn sing. The day will conclude at 2:00 PM.
Sunday, November 3
We will harken back to the days of Christ Church's founding and all gather together for a single worship service at 9:30 AM. Seating is likely to fill up beyond capacity (we will have two overflow areas), so you will want to come early to make sure your family has enough seats together. Pastor Greco will preach on the theme of our weekend, "Remembering God’s faithfulness, looking forward to God’s blessings." After the worship service, there will be a time of fellowship and light refreshments. The morning will then conclude with a presentation on the vision and future of Christ Church.
