Return to Egypt

May 12, 2013 Speaker: Fred Greco Series: Genesis

Topic: AM Service Passage: Genesis 43:1–43:34

Change is a difficult thing, even for believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. Old habits die hard, and we can often be discouraged by the slowness that change happens in our lives. In Genesis 43, we begin to see change take root in the lives of Joseph's brothers, as the Lord works in their lives.

I. Change in Thinking
A. Taking Responsibility
B. Thinking of Others

II. Change in Actions
A. Acting on Faith
B. Making Things Right

III. Change in Attitude
A. Tested by Kindness
B. Tested for Jealousy

Questions for consideration: (1) When things go wrong, what is your first reaction? Do you often blame others or circumstances? How do you take responsibility? (2) When you are afraid, what keeps you going? (3) How do you deal with the temptations of bitterness and envy when others around you have better “luck” or circumstances?
