Sermons
Here at Christ Church PCA, we desire God’s people to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18) and to be encouraged and strengthened by His Word (1 Thessalonians 5:11). We also desire those who do not know Christ to hear the good news of the gospel through God’s ordained means of preaching (Romans 10:14-17).
Because of these commitments, the normal practice of preaching at Christ Church PCA is to preach expositionally through a book of the Bible. By “expositionally,” we believe that the main purpose of the sermon is to expose or explain the what the Bible says to the congregation. A sermon is not a place to hear what the pastor thinks, or what the elders think, or even what the congregation thinks. It is to hear what God thinks. The Bible is a book, after all, made up of smaller books within it. In order to understand the message that God delivers through a passage, it is most helpful to have that passage in context. It can be just as difficult to jump into the middle of the history of David or a letter written by the Apostle Paul as is it would be to start in the middle of a Tom Clancy novel or a history of the United States. By going consecutively through a book of the Bible, we can keep in our minds the forest even while we stop to look at some trees. Our goal at Christ Church in preaching is to help the congregation understand the Bible better, and apply it to their lives.
Current Sunday Morning Sermon Series
Series on Daniel
In the morning worship service (9:30 AM), Pastor Greco has been preaching through the book of Daniel. The book of Daniel is often looked to for esoteric information on the Second Coming, or the time-line of prophetical history. It can often be made confusing, complex, and (slightly) irrelevant. A better way to look at Daniel is to see the provision in God’s Word for believers who were living in a hostile, secular society, where the State attempted to usurp the authority of the Lord as the King of the nations. If any of that sounds familiar to our present age, it is. Please go the the Daniel Sermon Series page and feel free to download (right click and select “Save As…”) any of the sermons preached by Senior Pastor Fred Greco (each are about 10 MB).

Series on Job
Have you ever had the experience of feeling alone, vulnerable and wondering if you can have hope? Have you ever wondered whether the disappointments in your life were the result of some secret sin you might not even be aware of? Have you thought that there is a one-to-one correlation between obedience and material blessing (and disobedience and poverty or pain)? If you have asked yourself any of these questions, the help that the book of Job has provided to believers for thousands of years is available for you. Job Sermon Series page.
